Centrally located in Fairfax, Oakton is adjacent to the town of Vienna.  The boundaries are generally Chain Bridge Road (123), Hunter Mill, Dulles Toll Road and West Ox Road.  Characteristics of the area are rolling hills, large lots and homes, horses, estates and subdivisions.  The edges of Oakton have begun to be developed with more townhomes and shopping.  Shopping is in the 123 and West Ox areas. The old W&OD railway bed is now a park and serves as a biking path for both Vienna and Oakton.

Public Transportation for the area would be the Vienna Metro.  Many also use the Dulles Toll Road for faster access to I-495.

The High School would be Oakton High School.  Private School would be Paul IV and it’s feeder schools.
